Among the highlights of this year’s Salon Privé, the prestige car event, will be a major display of Gulf-sponsored racing cars, a celebration of 25 years of the Ferrari F40 and the British premiere of the Alfa Romeo-based Carrozzeria Disco Volante.
The three-day event will feature a host of world exclusives and British debuts, with more supercar and premium brands due to exhibit than ever before. Among the exhibitors already confirmed are AMG, Aston Martin, Bentley, BMW, Eterniti, Ferrari, Fisker, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz and Noble.
One of the key displays will be 18 racing machines from the ROFGO Gulf Collection, which will be exhibited together in one place for the first time. Cars on display bearing the iconic Gulf blue and orange colours will span from the 1967 Mirage to a 2010 Lamborghini Gallardo.
The Mercedes-Benz Gullwing is celebrating its 60th anniversary and will the subject of a special display. The collection of Ferrari F40s will lead the way at the Concours d’Elegance portion of Salon Privé.
There will also be a special exhibit dedicated to memorable cars from movies, including some rare DeLorean examples and a number of vehicles made famous by the James Bond films.
Some interesting one-offs that will be on show include the Lamborghini Flying Star, which was a 1961 Turin motor show display car, the Aston Martin DB4 Bertone Jet and the 1912 Type 16 number 471, the oldest competition Bugatti. Jamiroquai singer Jay Kay is a regular at Salon Privé and will exhibit his Ferrari 330 GT Vignale shooting brake this year.
The event has been pushed back to a new date of 5-7 September due to renovation work at Syon House in West London over the summer. For tickets visit the Salon Privé website or telephone 0808 100 2205.
